The new offence of ‘Failure to Prevent Fraud’

VWV

Join us for The new offence of ‘Failure to Prevent Fraud’- a renewed focus for charities on policing lawful business practices.

The new offence of 'Failure to Prevent Fraud’ (contained in the Economic Crimes & Corporate Transparency Act 2023) comes into effect in September 2025. For those charities which will be impacted by it, it is important to take appropriate steps in the run-up to its implementation to ensure compliance.

The new rules will be added to other existing legislation which - to varying degrees - require charities to police lawful business practices, so we will re-cap some of the key requirements of that other legislation too.

This session will cover:

  • The new offence of 'Failure to Prevent Fraud' (contained in the Economic Crimes & Corporate Transparency Act 2023)
  • A re-cap of similar legislation in relation to Bribery, Modern Slavery and Criminal Finances

Who should attend this session?

The new offence applies to larger organisations but, like similar legislation, might in time be extended to charities of all sizes. This webinar is aimed at anyone with an interest in ensuring compliance by your charity with its regulatory obligations.
