Charity Matters - Summer 2023: Laying sustainable foundations for your charity’s future.

30 June 2023

Changes to our ways of working, combined with the challenges of the cost-of-living crisis and the urgent need for a more sustainable built environment, mean that many charities are re-evaluating their property requirements.

In this edition we explore some of the ways in which the building and construction industries are reducing their environmental impact, and what this could mean for charities and their longer-term investments.

Meanwhile, with more and more charities assessing their property needs, Simon Taylor from the Ethical Property Foundation discusses how charities and their trustees can become more property aware.

To bring some of these themes to life, Steven Lane of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies shares how the sale of its London property has benefitted the charity. And Rui Domingues of the Charity Finance Group and Dan Bishop of the Association of Chairs talk about how their shared office arrangement has brought about greater collaboration and new opportunities.
