Julian,
a Partner in Stone King’s Charity team, is delighted to have been invited to
join the VCSE Crown Representative’s Advisory Panel.
Convened
by Claire Dove CBE, the VCSE Crown Representative, the Panel brings together
key stakeholders to facilitate discussions on the sector and its engagement
with Government, particularly in relation to commissioning and financing.
Claire is known nationally and internationally for her
work in the sector, for ten years chairing Social Enterprise UK. Ensuring
Social Enterprises have a voice within Westminster and Whitehall, Claire worked
with the Governmental teams introducing and the Social Value Act and embedding
the Social Value Model.
The Panel meeting on 22 March 2023 received reports
on: The Procurement Bill; Home Office planning for Modern Slavery Victim
Support and the Crown Representative commissioned VCSE Contract Readiness
Programme, followed by an early engagement notification of an opportunity for
prison and probation advocacy services.
Julian
has specialised in charity law for over 30 years and is known for promoting the
purpose-driven model in public services and the combination of public benefit and
business legal disciplines.
He
champions the maturing of Social Enterprise, Social Finance, Social Value,
Social Impact Investment and their application to the Public Value imperative
in public policy, especially through Innovation Partnerships, multi-sector,
multi-stakeholder collaboration and commissioning/procurement transformation.
